I had the itch to do something with LED stickers once again! I somehow ruined two lights while trying to do this - the first I tried embedding in gel and it stopped working, so I thought maybe the heat of the gel interfered with it. The second I tried putting in acrylic, and I think I filed through the wire by accident. For the third I just used regular nail polish and Seche Vite, and it didn't stick out as much as I feared!

It's October, which means it's time for glow in the dark even when it's not necessary! Rather than using glow nail polish, I tried using glow in the dark powder. I have a white powder that glows blue, so I patted that onto wet regular white polish for the tips, and it worked well! I then used a green glow powder on a spiderweb made with spider gel.

 Tried to do a constellation in the stars effect for this. Made a 'custom' white by mixing acrylic paint and glow in the dark powder first, then made it more intense by mixing gel topcoat with the glow powder and adding a second layer. It certainly glowed!

 I never get tired of watching a field full of fireflies. I remember chasing fireflies growing up, and I still get lost in the magic of watching a dark night full of dancing lights. So of course I had to try to capture that in nail form! For bonus points, these nails are animated!

I started by putting down a base of Sally Hansen Nightwatch, then sponged on a band of lighter color in the middle using Sinful Colors Jolt. Trees were added with some China Glaze Liquid Leather. In the foreground I spotted on some Revlon First Class for a bit of texture.

For the fireflies, I used a small dotting tool and Serum No 5 Pure Glow Getter. I wanted to tone down the white, so I lightly dotted some sheer OPI I'm So Amberrassed to give them a more yellow effect.

And because it's fun, I hid NFC lights from Bundle Monster under all the polish! I love the effect!

Day 14: Rainbow Unicorn in Space

 I had way too much fun with this silly prompt! The idea just had so much potential! Because rainbow unicorns in space aren't flamboyant enough, I just had to also use UV reactive polish and add some glow in the dark to boot. Woo!

 I created the galaxy nails with a base of Finger Paints Queen for a Night, which is an awesome navy with small green and gold flakes. I thought it worked perfectly for a deep sky! The galaxy effect was sponged on with a combo of lavender Milani Rome, white China Glaze White on White, mint Revlon Minted, blue Sinful Colors Jolt, and shimmery orange Icing Falling for You.

The unicorn was painted with glow in the dark white Serum No 5 Pure Glow Getter. His horn and hooves glow blue with Serum No 5 Blue Blazes. I then used a small brush to paint his rainbow tail in stripes of UV reactive polish. Starting from the top, I used purple China Glaze Plur-ple, blue China Glaze DJ Blue My Mind, green Morgan Taylor Go for the Glow, yellow China Glaze Celtic Sun, orange Fing'rs Re-orange My Closet, and pink Color Club Warhol.

 Because that wasn't enough, I then added some glow in the dark powder on top of the polish. I had blue, greeen, yellow, orange, and pink, and it surprisingly enough is pretty see-through once a top coat is added. So I get the best of both worlds - UV reactive AND glow in the dark rainbows!

Day 12: Traveling through Time

 For the challenge of 'technology' I decided to depict the changes in time-keeping devices through the years! It goes from a sundial on my pinkie, to an hourglass, to a rather steampunky geared clock, to a slightly more modern grandfather clock, and finally a digital display! Bonus - I made the digital clock glow in the dark because it's fun!

 To begin, I used a base of dark brown Sally Hansen Cinnamon. I then sponged on a touch of Essie Epic Proposal to give everything a burnished bronze look. The sundial was done with light brown ORLY Dare to Bare ringed in Sinful Colors Copper Pot. Highlighting the dial and the bitty roman numerals were done with acrylic paint.

For the hourglass I used acrylic paint to draw the shape of the glass, then L'Oreal The Statement Piece to add the sand. The wooden frame was added with a bit more Copper Pot.

The open face gear clock was drawn with more Dare to Bare, followed by black acrylic paint. Golden roman numerals were drawn with L'Oreal Because You're Worth It. Because I could, I added a 3D element with some watch components.

 I added more Sinful Colors Copper Pot to my index to act as the wood of the clock. The watch face was painted with L'Oreal Hit the Slopes. Acrylic paint was again used for the black details.

Lastly, I made the digital clock with a black acrylic background, then painted the numbers in white acrylic paint. I added a touch of Serum No. 5 Blue Blazes over the white paint to make the numbers glow blue!

Day 11: Cat Silhouettes

 The prompt for the day was 'something you own,' so I chose my trio of cool cat silhouette wall decorations. I'll get a photo of the actual inspiration up soon! Since they are just black metal silhouettes, I decided to jazz it up a little with a sparkly gradient! Bonus - it glows in the dark too!

 To save me from having to layer up jellies, I knew I was going to start with a white base. On a whim, I decided to add some shnazzy glow! I used Serum No 5 Pure Glow Getter to provide a lovely white glow. Next, I added some condensed holographic glitter to the tips - Sephora by OPI Meet Me At the Disco, followed by some China Glaze Fairy Dust. I love this sparkly combination!

To create the gradient effect, I used tinting jellies from multiple brands. My pinkie used red Julep Wendy with yellow OPI I'm Never Amberrassed. I then went from yellow to green Sally Hansen Sea Through, then to blue Sally Hansen Ice Tint. My index finger finished the transition from blue to purple Sally Hansen Grape Jelly. I decided to keep the flow of the gradient and did a horizontal gradient from purple to orange on my thumb.

  I then used a small brush and black acrylic paint to add the kitties. Two of my silhouettes are of cat faces leaning in from an angle, so I replicated those on my index and pinkie nails. The third is a straight portrait, which I split between my middle two fingers.
